Bronx, NY - An off-duty New York City police officer has been killed in a vehicle crash in the Bronx involving a city-owned garbage truck.
The New York Police Department says fellow officers responding to a 911 call found the 28-year-old officer unconscious and unresponsive around 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
