Baltimore, MD - Dec.8, 2018 - Over a decade of dreaming, planning and building came to a climax this past Sunday, as our TA Family celebrated a momentous and historic Chanukas Habayis of our new expanded campus, in conjunction with a Hachnosas Sefer Torah. From beginning to end, the day was packed with simcha, ruach and hoda'ah to Hashem for reaching this milestone. The kesivas osios was completed in the morning by the Ray and Krupp families, who generously facilitated the writing of our new Sefer Torah. The Hachnosas Sefer Torah began with spirited dancing by hundreds of people, including our Hanhala, administration, Rebbeim, talmidim, staff, alumni and community members.
We were very fortunate to have our Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Yosef Rottenberg, shlita, grace us with his presence and join us in the TA simcha. The Hachnosas Sefer Torah proceeded to the new Mesivta building, dedicated by the Emanuel J. Friedman family. The Chanukas Habayis program was held in the beautiful new Foxman Bais Medrash, dedicated by Mr. and Mrs. Norton and Carol Foxman, in the merit of Isadore and Fannie Foxman.
The program began with tehillim, led by Rabbi Shragi Herskowitz, Mesivta Mashgiach and Rabbi Yaakov Schwartz, Menahel. Mr. Howard Tzvi Friedman welcomed the overflow crowd and remarked that our beautiful new campus will allow Torah learning to continue and flourish for generations to come. TA's President, Rabbi Yehuda Lefkovitz thanked our selfless and generous donors for their direct contribution towards enabling TA to train future leaders of Klal Yisroel. Chairman of the Board, Mr. Peretz Wertenteil spoke about the dedication of the Hanhala, administration, staff and Rebbeim of TA to "our boys", and how all decisions made by the board are entirely with the boys' best interests in mind. He also expressed thanks to the entire building committee and all those who enabled this project to come to fruition. Mr. Emanuel Friedman shared an interesting idea about Jewish continuity, comparing it to "Pando", a series of trees whose DNA are identical and whose growth stem from a single tree. In closing, President of the Baltimore Vaad HaRabbanim, Rabbi Yaakov Hopfer, shlita, shared divrei bracha, focusing on the idea of each individual being a holy Yid, and living a holy life, and shared a bracha that our new campus should bring about an aura of holiness to Klal Yisroel.
Throughout the morning, the new buildings were open for self guided tours and guests were able to see the brand new classrooms, enrichment rooms and facilities that we now use every day. Yasher Koach to the entire building committee and countless others who worked hard to make this magnificent campus a reality.
