Dear JCC Members, Users, and Guests,

Due to the rapid rise in virus cases, we have instituted new Covid policies that go into effect today, Thursday, January 6, 2022.  These updated policies were established after reviewing recent changes by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Baltimore County Department of Health, and in consultation with our medical advisors at LifeBridge Health.

*Please note that the CDC now identifies individuals as fully vaccinated if they have had a full dose of their chosen vaccine and have received a booster shot if they are eligible for one.

If you test positive for Covid-19, you are required to follow these steps:

  • Do not visit the JCC for a minimum of five days.  Day 1 is the day following your positive test.
  • After these five days you are welcome to return as long as you are symptom free. If you choose to exercise at the Owings Mills JCC during the next five days (after you are symptom free), you will be required to wear a mask.  NOTE: Masks are required all times at the Weinberg Park Heights JCC per Baltimore City’s mask mandate.

If you are fully vaccinated and have direct exposure to someone who tests positive, but they DO NOT live in your home:

  • If you have no symptoms: No quarantine is required, but you are required to wear a mask when exercising at the JCC for 10 days after your exposure.
  • If you have symptoms: You will need to quarantine for a minimum of five days. Please get a PCR test on or after day five and return when you test negative and are symptom free. We require you to wear a mask while exercising for five days after you are symptom free and Covid-negative.

If you are NOT fully vaccinated and have direct exposure to someone who tests positive but they DO NOT live in your home:

  • You will need to quarantine for minimum of five days. Please get a PCR test on or after day five and return when you test negative and are symptom free.  We require you to wear a mask while exercising for five days after you are symptom free and Covid-negative.

If you have direct exposure to someone who tests positive with whom you are living in your home:

  • Regardless of your vaccination status, you will need to quarantine for minimum of five days. Please get a PCR test on or after day five and return when you test negative and are symptom free. We require you to wear a mask while exercising for five days after you are symptom free and Covid-negative.

We encourage you to get your booster if you are eligible. We are hosting vaccine clinics at the Weinberg Park Heights JCC on Friday, January 7 from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and Thursday, February 3 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. In addition, Bikor Cholim of Baltimore has a vaccine site that requires appointments.   This information can be found at baltimorebikurcholim.org.  There is also a new drive thru testing site at the former Baltimore City Public Safety Training Facility, 3500 W. Northern Parkway 21215.   The new site provides free PCR testing from Sunday through Thursday from 12:30-5:30pm.  For more information and to register, visit www.BaltimorePCR.com.

We are doing our best to track cases at the JCC and to notify members of possible exposure.  If you recently tested positive after a visit to the JCC please contact our membership team at member_services@jcc.org  or 410.500.5910 (PH) or 410.559.3506 (OM) for guidance.

We are continuously monitoring the situation and will provide updated information when available.  We are  committed to keeping our community engaged, safe, and healthy!  Let’s each do our part to keep each other safe and healthy.

Our best always for a healthier 2022!
