After federal authorities paused the use of Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine Tuesday and state health officials followed suit, Baltimore County officials said they, too, will stop administering the one-dose shot.

"Baltimore County is discontinuing the use of the Johnson and Johnson Covid-19 vaccines, but our clinics will go forward as scheduled," officials said in a statement Tuesday. "Individuals with appointments will now receive either the Pfizer or the Moderna vaccine until further notice."

The Maryland Department of Health directed all COVID-19 vaccine providers to pause the administration of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines until further federal guidance.
