The surprise shortage of doses of Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine is expected to persist, Gov. Larry Hogan said Friday.

"The reduction we saw... that that's going to continue likely for another couple of weeks," Hogan said at a news conference. "The good news is we did 82,000 shots yesterday. We have the ability to do 100,000 or more as soon as they can get us those vaccines."

The slowdown, however, will mean Maryland will receive 250,000 fewer doses from the federal government than expected over that period.

Hogan said federal officials assured him the issue will be fixed and that the state can expect to have enough doses for all adults by the end of May. Read more at WBAL
