Baltimore, MD  - Some residents in Baltimore City could be finding it difficult to register for an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Maryland has moved on to Phase 1C of the vaccination plan, which includes anyone 65 years and over, as well as certain essential workers like grocery store staff, transit and US postal workers.

If you live in the city, you can go to the city health department’s website to register for appointments to get the vaccine.

During a virtual update on the city’s response to Covid19 Monday, Mayor Brandon Scott said the city’s Maryland Access Point hotline or MAP, is in place to help older residents who don’t have access to the Internet register for the vaccine.

But Monday, callers got a continued busy signal or were placed on hold for extended periods of time. City health officials said it was because of interest over the new Priority 1C move and apologized for the inconvenience.
