U.S. equity markets rose on the final trading day of the week reversing earlier losses in a volatile session but the rally was not enough to erase weekly losses.


The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained over 60 points or 0.25 percent, while the S&P 500 rose 0.39 percent and the Nasdaq Composite 0.79 percent respectively.

Investors turned their attention to more prospects of a coronavirus vaccine and further city and state reopenings. President Trump discussed both at a midday event noting the entire country will reopen with or without a vaccine. His comments helped outweigh the worst retail sales report in nearly 30 years.
