Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 12, 2018 - Over two million people have seen the Night Spectacular sound and light show at the Tower of David (ToD) in Jerusalem, Israel.  KING DAVID, a new after dark show light & laser experience, is set to open Chol Hamoed Pesach.

KING DAVID uses laser projectors to light up the Tower of David citadel with a quarter of million lumens and 35 million pixels. "The movement and sharpness of the laser technology brings the subjects to life in 3-dimensions and makes the show that much more remarkable," said Renee Sivan, ToD concept creator and curator.

The Israel Ministry of Tourism and Jerusalem Municipality invested in KING DAVID. the new laser projections and sound system cost three million shekels.

The Night Spectacular, which has been shown for a decade, will continue to run. However, KING DAVID will now be an option. The maximum audience size per show is 420 people. Pre-show walk through is 15 minutes long, with the main show 31 minutes. As we found out at the press launch, warm clothing is recommended for the outside amphitheater can be quite cold at night.

The show opens with a virtual tour of art inspired by the story of David. Artists Rembrandt and Chagall and many others are featured. Scenes range from Ruth and Naomi in the fields, to young David tending his flocks, to fighting of David and Goliath, people celebrating in streets, Mizmor 'David, and ends with orchestral celebration for peace in Yerushalayim.

Videos and photo essay capture a bit of the show, however, the vastness of the Tower of David citadel experience is impossible to duplicate.
