The victim of Friday's terror attack in the capital's light rail was named as Hannah Bladon, a 21-year-old exchange student and a British national who was studying in Jerusalem's Hebrew University.

Bladon commenced her studies at the Hebrew University in January 2017 and was expected to complete the program in September. According to Hebrew media reports, Bladon took courses on Bible Studies, archeology and religion at the Rothberg International School. She was previously a student at the University of Birmingham, where she studied religion.

The Hebrew University extended its condolences to Bladon's family, saying in an official statement that "the university condemns such acts of terror and murder that hurt innocents who have come to Jerusalem to learn and to enrich their academic knowledge. The university's administration and staff members are providing all the necessary support to all the students, staff members and families in Israel and abroad. May her memory be a blessing."
