The Shas party is advocating for a bill to reinstate its leader, former Interior Minister and Health Minister MK Aryeh Deri, in the government, says Arutz-7. Last week, PM Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Deri after the Supreme Court deemed his appointment invalid. This prompted Shas to demand action to limit the Supreme Court's power to interfere in government decisions. On Monday, MK Moshe Arbel proposed legislation to allow the government to reappoint Deri and prevent the Supreme Court from nullifying it. The bill would prevent the court from intervening in minister appointments, except for suitability criteria. The recent court ruling, according to Arbel, undermines the will of the voters and the bill aims to rectify that.
