"I'm glad that the public heeded our call, and I see that the traffic this morning is flowing and that things are under control. We did very comprehensive tests last night, so we were able to reopen the road certain that it is safe.

The safety of all those concerned is at the forefront of our minds and it is indeed safe to open the road. The trains also resumed running at 5 am, having taken all appropriate caution and responsibility.

Now the repair work continues to make sure that there won't be any more surprises. Only when we are sure that everything is indeed repaired and safe will we reopen this exit, north of Hashalom Interchange.

I want to call on the public to keep on avoiding travelling from the north, as much as possible. It is a tremendous opportunity to find out how to travel by public or cooperative transportation. I am glad that the Minister of Defense agreed with my suggestion that soldiers can arrive at the Kirya IDF base in phases, reducing congestion in the surrounding area.

We should also take the opportunity to see this as a pilot for staggered arrival to the army on Sundays and to workplaces throughout the week so that we can spread the load as a matter of course."
