As Omicron continues to sweep through Israel, numerous government offices are closed or are set to be closing.

Bituach Leumi will have no in-person reception beginning tomorrow, January 13. This will be especially difficult for non-Israelis who may have difficulty accessing their online or phone Bituach Leumi account. There is currently no expected date for reopening.

In a similar vein, Misrad HaPnim officials have advised Chaim V’Chessed that service in the Jerusalem visa department is currently extremely curtailed. Only urgent cases will be accepted. Those requesting appointments should also expect lengthy delays.

The Jerusalem Municipality remains open for urgent cases only, with advance appointment and a Tav Yarok. Officials strongly urge the public to utilize their online services, whenever possible.

Lastly, numerous members of the Chaim V’Chessed staff are currently in quarantine due to Covid. However, our offices remain open, as usual, with those in quarantine working from their homes.
