Test positive ratio climbs to 10.2%; over 1,100 patients hospitalized in serious condition

More than 10,000 coronavirus cases were identified on Monday as the country undergoing its third national lockdown attempts to curb a mounting wave of infections, new data released by the Health Ministry Tuesday morning showed.

Despite entering a second week of a comprehensive lockdown, followed by two weeks of a less strict lockdown, the Jewish state continues to break records in terms of infections per day and patients hospitalized.

There are currently 1,114 patients in serious condition, including 277 on artificial respirators, and a total of 81,059 active cases in the country.

Out of 100,693 screening tests conducted Tuesday, 10.2 percent tested positive -- the highest figure of Israel’s current third coronavirus wave.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in March, 4,049 people have died. Read more at i24
