Jerusalem, Israel - Jan. 17, 2021 - Friday, January 15, 2021, was a cold grey cloudy day in Yerushalayim. Under a COVID-19 lockdown, Mamilla Mall stores were all closed. Walking to the Old City, guards were posted at gates to enforce the 1-kilometer distance from home restrictions.

Midday on Har Hazesim one could see the cars and motorcycles parked. Below a line of photographers dressed in black, tried to get a view of the private levaya for Seldon Adelson z"l taking place under a small white tent in a prime location in the ancient cemetery.

At the Kossel, a group of men was trying to get a mincha minyan. A few women were on the almost empty Kossel plaza, plenty of space to social distance near the wall.

It was a sad day as security outnumbered the Jewish people in the Old City near the Kossel on erev Shabbos in Yerushalayim.
