Kibbutz Ramat Hashofet to be renamed as 'Ramat Hashofetet' until after Yom Kippur

An Israeli Kibbutz has temporarily changed its name in memory of US Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who died this week at the age of 87, outlet Haaretz reported on Tuesday.

Kibbutz Ramat Hashofet (“Hill of the Judge”), established in 1977 with its name chosen in tribute to American-Jewish judge Julian W. Mack, now will be known as Ramat Hashofetet -- in Hebrew, a female judge.

The name-change will remain in effect through the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), according to Haaretz. Read more at i24
