Five Israel Defense Forces soldiers were hurt in a suspected car-ramming attack in the West Bank, military spokesperson said early on Sunday, adding that the search for vehicle, that fled the scene, was ongoing.

Magen David Adom said they responded to an emergency in which four were injured, one man in his thirties in medium condition, and three others in their twenties in light condition. Another 19-year-old was later on added to the list of the injured, also in medium condition.

“When we arrived the place was dark, we saw four injured lying on the road, all were fully conscious. A man in his thirties suffered bruises to the face and limbs, a young woman of about 20 suffered head and face injuries, and two other young people, about 20 years old, suffered from hemorrhagic injuries,” MDA paramedic David Trachtenberg, who was one of the first on the scene, said.

The wounded were evacuated to the hospitals of Shaare Tzedek and Hadassah, a further statement said.

Police and the IDF are searching for the terrorist, who escaped the scene, and the IDF is investigating whether the ramming was nationalistically motivated.
