Joint vote of ruling sovereignty council and cabinet overturns 1958 law barring ties with Jewish state

Sudan's ruling sovereignty council and cabinet late Monday officially voted to annul the so-called Israel boycott law as part of the normalization process between Khartoum and Jerusalem, according to The Times of Israel.

The Sudanese prime minister's office declared earlier in the month that the country would scrap the 1958 law. At the same time, it also confirmed its strong support for the creation of a Palestinian state alongside the Jewish one.

Sudanese Justice Minister Nasredeen Abdulbari confirmed the rescinding of the more than six-decade-long official boycott of Israel following a joint session between the ruling sovereignty council and the cabinet on Monday. Read more at i24
