US pharma company reportedly 'furious' due to Jerusalem's procrastination over payments

Pharmaceutical company Pfizer decided to freeze coronavirus vaccine shipments to Israel due to a delay in payments, broadcaster Channel 12 reported on Friday.

A batch of 700,000 doses was expected to arrive in Israel soon, according to the report, but was put on hold.

The US company was reportedly “furious” over Jerusalem’s suspension of money transfers, and made clear that if it would not be wired promptly the vaccines would go to other countries waiting in line instead.

The dispute with Pfizer rose following a public quarrel between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
