Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah vociferously denies any involvement in the drugs trade

The leader of the Shi'ite terrorist organization Hezbollah denied on Sunday that it has any links to a large shipment of amphetamines seized by Italian police earlier this year, according to the BBC

Hassan Nasrallah vociferously rejected that his organization was involved in the drugs trade from Syria, adding the use or manufacturing of the drug inside his militia group was strictly "forbidden."

In the summer of 2020, Italian authorities confiscated nearly 15.5 tons of the amphetamine Captagon arriving from Syria – worth an estimated US$1 billion. 

Rome initially assessed that the drug bust was linked to the Islamic State, but further investigation revealed that the shipment was tied to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and his Hezbollah allies. Read more at i24
