Baltimore, MD, Nov. 7, 2017 — Responding to the cancellation of Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely's address at Princeton University, Rabbi Yaakov Menken, Managing Director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, issued the following statement:

As a Princeton alumnus, I can state categorically that this is not the Princeton Hillel I remember. It is an outrage that Princeton Hillel would cancel a talk by an Israeli government official based upon a false charge of racism, merely because Min. Hotovely supports Jewish life throughout the Jewish homeland.

The false charge of racism and Jewish supremacy is one of the classic hallmarks of anti-Semitism throughout Jewish history. One would have thought that anyone holding the title Rabbi would know that and take it into account, before falling prey to its latest facade.

Rabbi Eitan Webb of Princeton Chabad did the courageous and correct thing by re-issuing the invitation rescinded by Hillel.

The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), the largest rabbinic public policy organization in America, articulates and advocates for public policy positions based upon traditional Jewish thought.
