A new drug appears to be a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

The clinical trial of the drug lecanemab showed it was effective at slowing the progression of the disease, drugmakers Eisai and Biogen announced.

“I think it’s historic,” said George Vradenburg, chairman and co-Founder of advocacy organization UsAgainstAlzheimer’s. “It’s a game-changer.”
