The United States Senate will hold the final confirmation vote for Judge Amy Coney Barrett, US President Donald Trump's pick for the US Supreme Court, on Monday.

In a rare Sunday vote, the upper chamber of the US Congress struck down the debates ahead of the confirmation.

The 51-48 vote to do away with the procedure was largely cast along the partisan lines, with the Republicans steaming forth with the confirmation ahead of the November 3 presidential election.

Earlier, on Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to put Judge Barrett's confirmation to a full Senate vote despite a Democrat boycott.
