The Baltimore Board of Estimates on Wednesday approved putting two speed cameras on the Jones Falls Expressway.

There will be six speed cameras on the JFX, but only two will be activated at any given time. Drivers will encounter speed indicators showing how fast they are traveling. Motorists will be granted a 90-day grace period before $40 fines are levied.

"The total goal for this is to make people slow down," Baltimore City Transportation Director Steve Sharkey said.
