It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Shmaryahu Shulman zt”l.

Rav Shulman was one of the early talmidim of Yeshivas Ner Yisroel under Rav Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman and at Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, NJ under Rav Aharon Kotler. Rav Shulman was regarded as one of the leading talmidim of Rav Ruderman. He shared a very close relationship with many other gedolim of the previous generation, among them Rav Moshe Feinstein, who addresses Rav Shulman in many of his teshuvos.

He published many seforim, including Be’er Sarim, Shomer Hapesach, Shomer Mitzvah, Sukas Shalem, Meirish Babirah, and Kanfei Hanesher.

Rav Shulman served as a rov in Norwich, Connecticut and Jersey City, New Jersey. He lived in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, for about sixty years before he relocated to Lakewood, NJ some years ago and settled at the Lakewood Courtyard.... Read More: MATZAV
