Gaza-based terrorist group calls parade scheduled for Tuesday a 'fuse for a new explosion'

Hamas on Monday warned of an escalation if Tuesday's scheduled Jerusalem flag march proceeds as planned.

"We are calling on Palestinians in Jerusalem and within the Green Line to halt the march tomorrow," Hamas spokesman Abdulatif al-Qanua said, calling the parade through the Old City celebrating the reunification of Jerusalem in the 1967 Six-Day War a "fuse for a new explosion for the protection of the al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem."The pro-Hezbollah Al-Akhbar daily newspaper in Lebanon reported on Monday that Hamas has informed Egypt that the flag march would bring a response similar to last month's 11 days of fighting between Gaza and Israel that saw thousands of rockets fired into Israeli territory.
