It appears there will now be a meeting between Gov. Larry Hogan and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott to focus on violence in the city.

After an exchange of tweets on Tuesday and finger-pointing over violent crime in Baltimore, Hogan says he is willing to have Scott and Police Commissioner Michael Harrison come to Annapolis for a sit-down meeting about the issue.

“We’ve called on the mayor and police commissioner to come down to Annapolis as fast as possible. We want to hear about what type of crime plan they have,” Hogan said Wednesday. “Last time I met with the police commissioner they had a plan that we didn’t like and gave them a lot of suggestions on, which they didn’t listen to.”

Tweeting earlier this week, “I’m ready when you are,” Scott was the first to call for the meeting.

Hogan says now is the time to step up and get to work, with the goal of the meeting to get city leaders focused on violent crime. Read more at WBAL
