As reported previously, there continues to be difficulties for students seeking to enter Israel. Student visa holders currently in Israel who wish to travel, and then return to Israel, may obtain permission to return to Israel by visiting the Misrad Hapnim.

Interior Ministry officials have asked us to warn all student visa holders contemplating travel abroad to make sure to obtain this permit before leaving the country. Student visa holders who leave the country risk not being allowed to return to Israel.

It continues to be quite difficult to obtain these permits, due to the dearth appointments at the Misrad HaPnim. Efforts are being made to streamline the process.

At this time, there is no process to apply for reentry to Israel. Therefore, despite the difficulties, it is crucial that anyone traveling who intends to return to Israel brave the process and obtain their permit. Those who leave Israel without a permit for reentry will find themselves unable to return to Israel.
