The Baltimore City Board of Estimates on Wednesday approved funding for 20 new red light cameras and 25 new speed cameras to go up through June 30.

The increase is priced into a $6.1 million increase of the city's contract with American Traffic Solutions for fixed and portable school and work zone cameras.

There are currently 135 red light cameras and 140 speed cameras in Baltimore. It's not clear where the new cameras will go. However, state law only permits speed cameras in school zones or work zones. Read more at WBAL
