Baltimore, MD – Dec. 30, 2020 - With the pandemic and approaching winter shutting down virtually every local suitable indoor and outdoor dating venue, the calls to The Shidduch Center started coming, “Please help us find a place to date.”

In response to this essential and time sensitive need, The Shidduch Center of Baltimore – under the direction of Rabbi Shlomo Goldberger, and with the remarkable efforts of two Board members Mrs. Sara Schachter and Mrs. Lois Volosov – stepped up to answer the call.  Working round the clock, they are delighted to announce the immediate roll out of The Dating Place, a new Shidduch Center initiative providing our marriage-minded singles with a relaxing and comfortable place to date. Bez’H, The Dating Place will open this Motzei Shabbos, January 2, 2021.

Situated in the office suites at The Pikesville DoubleTree Hilton, The Dating Place has the capacity to host five dating couples at one time. Its five conversation rooms are equipped with a table and chairs, refreshments, and board games, serving daters at all stages of the dating process. One of these rooms also features a Creative Crafts area, while another room sports a ping pong table and Foosball. The Atrium is a common area that will offer a snack bar, fridge, and additional board games.

The Dating Place has attracted the enthusiastic partnership of The DoubleTree Hilton, Spotlight Home Staging & Design, the Star-K, and 7Mile Market. Specifically, the proprietors of Spotlight, Mrs. Shoshana Schmell and Mrs. Leah Donaty charged right into the front lines, deploying every professional resource to prepare an esthetically-pleasing, tasteful dating space for our dating couples, with an eye towards optimizing the privacy that dating couples prefer and deserve. Mrs. Sharon Galkin and Mrs. Lisa Klein have partnered in the ongoing day to day scheduling of our dating couples, while Mrs. Sharlene Pleeter and Mrs. Idie Goldsmith are coordinating the rotation of hostesses who will be on site to assist the dating couples. With the participation of Mrs. Faigy Rosen and Mrs. Sarah Stern, The Dating Place is amply-stocked with board games, crafts, and refreshments.

The Dating Place accepts bookings with at least one day advance notice. The bachur is invited to text 410.299.5921 for reservations. This is the primary number for reservations. If, and ONLY if, you have not yet received a reply to your text, and have an urgent and time sensitive need, you many send a follow up text to 203.400.3321.
