'This is triple the number of vaccines in the original contract with Moderna,' Netanyahu notes

Israel’s Health Ministry has signed an agreement with US biotechnology firm Moderna to triple the amount of COVID-19 vaccine doses for 2021, a joint statement by the Prime Minister’s Office and the ministry said Friday.

From two million doses, the new agreement will increase the quantity procured to six million which could be provided to three million citizens (the vaccination process requires two doses).

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was “pleased“ with the deal, saying “it gives us hope -- we see the light at the end of the tunnel. Until then we need to follow the rules. Our mission is to bring vaccines. Your mission is to follow the rules. If we do this -- we are going to win,” he concluded. Read more at i24
