'Terrorists murdered an eminent Iranian scientist today,' Zarif says

There are "serious indications of Israeli role" in the assassination of one of Iran's top nuclear scientists, Tehran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif declared Friday.

In a tweet, posted hours after the news broke, the Iranian FM condemned the attack as an "act of state terror."

"Terrorists murdered an eminent Iranian scientist today," he declared, saying the hit revealed the "cowardice" and "warmongering" of the perpetrators.

Zarif's comments come after Iran's Defense Ministry confirmed the death of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh after his car was targeted by unknown gunmen. Read more at i24
