The UK Labour Party suspended its former leader Jeremy Corbyn on Thursday following his response to the release of a watchdog report detailing his alleged mishandling of anti-Semitism complaints.

The document authored by the Equality and Human Rights Commission published earlier in the day accused the party's leadership of failing to properly tackle anti-Semitism in the Labour ranks and fostering a culture that, at best, tolerated anti-Jewish sentiment and at worst embraced it.

Corbyn responded to the report in a Facebook post by stating that the number of anti-Semitism complaints filed while serving as head of the party from 2015 until 2019 was largely overblown. Read more at i24
