A delegation from the Islamist terror group Hamas will head to Cairo for reconciliation talks with Palestinian political rival Fatah on Sunday, the organization said in a statement.

The delegation will be headed by Saleh al-Arouri, deputy leader of Hamas’ political wing, and be joined by  Izzat Al-Rishq, Khalil Al-Hayya, and Rouhi Mushtaha.

Concerns over a recent string of diplomatic victories for Israel in the Arab world have given the Palestinian political foes an incentive to relaunch reconciliation talks as they see their closest allies back away from their cause for an independent state in favor of forging ties with Jerusalem and Washington DC.
