Gov. Andrew Cuomo released new information regarding the potential reopening of schools in New York amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cuomo said the reopening of schools will echo the state’s economic reopening, and will follow a data-based process to make sure students are not put at risk.

Under the plan, schools will be able to open in the fall for regions that are under phase four. The daily infection rate in these regions must remain lower than 5% over a 14-day average.
