In a virtual town hall Tuesday night, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said he expects the county's local revenue to drop by "tens of millions" next year as businesses are heavily affected by the coronavirus outbreak. 

Olszewski also said his administration projects expenses for the coronavirus will be in the "tens of millions."

He discussed budget proposals for next year as the county is in "uncharted territory" amid the coronavirus outbreak. 

For 2021, the primary focus of the budget is providing resources to the workforce, schools and for public safety, according to Olszewski. 

County lawmakers will have to make difficult decisions regarding the budget, but Olszewski said, "I remain optimistic that the steps we have taken to date and those we will continue to take will allow us to remain focused on our priorities while we manage our way through this crisis together."
