Mar. 19, 2020 - 10:50 PM - Bikur Cholim of Baltimore would like to thank Drs. Ron Samet, Yoel Jakobovits, Netanel Schwob, Dov Frankel, and Daniel Grove for their vital and informative information to the community on COVID-19 virus. Close to 200 people from the community participated in last night's conference call to listen to instruction and advice from these very special physicians.  For those of you who were unable to call in or for a recap, please see the audio link below which has the recording of the event in its entirety.

The doctors tackled questions that are troubling all of us:

  • Is it safe to take walks? hikes? car rides - does age or health matter?
  • Can germs stick to clothing and shoes? If so, should clothing/shoes be washed before coming home from the store?
  • In general, should people over 60 allow their married children/grandchildren to visit? Or come for Pesach
  • What is the story with Ibuprofen?
  • Why can’t my children have playdates? Aren’t children immune from this virus?
  • Why should we stay indoors and not mingle?
  • At what point should we get tested? Should we take our children with fever to be tested?

Bikur Cholim of Baltimore will continue to forward your questions to our very caring physicians and email their responses back to you as quickly as we can. Please email all questions to info@baltimorebikurcholim.org.

Bikur Cholim is very grateful for our physicians who gave so generously of their time, concern, and expertise. We also wish to recognize Yaakov Berkowitz and Rabbi Elchanan Ciment for organizing and manning the conference call, to Dr. Dov Frankel for moderating the panel discussions, and Bonnie Pollak for collecting and distributing the many questions that came pouring in.

May Hashem keep you all safe and well during these challenging times.
