Street Closures for 20th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade

The 20th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade will be held on Monday, January 20th beginning at 12:00 noon.  

The parade will start at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Eutaw Street, near the State Office Complex, and proceed SOUTH along Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. It will disband on Baltimore Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Poppleton Street.

The following streets will be CLOSED and parking will be prohibited:

Street closures for this year’s parade will vary from years past. Changes are noted in italics. 

- Franklin Street between Greene Street and Fremont Avenue from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Access to WESTBOUND US 40 will be maintained.

- Eutaw Street between Dolphin Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

- Preston Street between Madison Avenue and Howard Street from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

- Madison Avenue between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Preston Street from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

- Lombard Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Poppleton Street from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

- Scott Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Pratt Street from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

- SOUTHBOUND Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between Eutaw and Lombard Streets from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

- LEFT lane of NORTHBOUND Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between Lombard and Eutaw Streets from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

- Pennsylvania Avenue between Preston Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. 

Parking will be PROHIBITED on the following streets on Monday, January 20th from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m.:

- Eutaw Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Dolphin Street

- Madison Avenue between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Preston Street

- Preston Street between Madison Avenue and Eutaw Street

- Lombard Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Poppleton Street

- Scott Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Pratt Street

- Pennsylvania Avenue between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Preston Street (10 a.m. until 3 p.m.)
