Mayor Dr. Aliza Bloch held a small ceremony on Monday, attended by Minister of Health MK Yaakov Litzman and CEO of Hadassah Medical Center, Prof. Zeev Rotshtein. During the ceremony, it was announced that an expanded medical center, operating as a branch of Hadassah Medical Center, would be built in Beit Shemesh.

The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Mayor Yeshaya Ehrenreich and Council Member Yisrael Silverstein, who holds the Health portfolio.

During the event, the Hadassah Director presented to the Minister and Mayor an annual draft plan for the establishment of a Hadassah Medical Center branch in Beit Shemesh.

Among other things, the draft includes plans for an emergency medical center, a specialist clinic, outpatient centers, operating rooms, an imaging unit and a dialysis unit. Construction of the medical center is due to begin within 18 months. 

The Hadassah branch in Beit Shemesh will be built in the area designated for the establishment of a medical center, located between RBS G and Ramat Beit Shemesh D.
