MONSEY (VINnews) — The victim of the brutal stabbing attack in Monsey has spoken to Ramapo police from his hospital bed, to assist them in their ongoing investigation. Detective Lt. Michael Colbath stated stated that they spoke to the man, but declined to comment on whether or not they obtained any new or useful information from him.

Ramapo is also being assisted by the FBI in their investigation.

The victim, after undergoing several surgeries, is no longer considered critical.

The police are conntinuing to review security footage that captured the brutal November 20 attack. Police Chief Brad Weidel has described the video as grainy and low quality, however police have revealed that they are working to enhance the footage to get a clearer picture.

The motive for the attack is still hazy, however police have downplayed the theory that hate was the motive behind the attack.

Chief Weidel acknowledged being aware of the various rumors swirling around the community, however he said “We will make decisions based on the facts.”
