Benny Gantz, former IDF chief turned top contender for Israeli prime minister, will deliver a keynote speech at the AIPAC conference in March just one day before incumbent leader Benjamin Netanyahu makes his annual address to the crowd.
The annual convention of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is seen as the top pro-Israel platform in US politics and will take place March 24-26 in Washington DC.
Gantz is scheduled to address the conference’s main stage on March 25, continuing a tradition of inviting Israeli opposition leaders to address the crowd in addition to the incumbent leader.
Planning to emphasize the US-Israel relationship “based on shared values and mutual interest” Gantz will present to the pro-Israel lobby and conference attendees his case for why he thinks he deserves to unseat Netanyahu.
