BALTIMORE (AP) — Prosecutors won't pursue charges against a divorced police couple in Baltimore after an investigation into possible misuse of charity funds and a burglary allegation.

The Baltimore Sun quotes state's attorney spokeswoman Melba Saunders as saying neither case against Maj. Kimberly Burrus or Capt. Torran Burrus offered compelling evidence.

Kimberly Burrus founded a nonprofit to improve police-community relations after the highly publicized death of a black man in police custody in 2015. The Sun quotes the Burruses as saying during a custody hearing that she was being investigated for spending funds on vacation tickets.

Kimberly Burrus was suspended without pay. She filed a criminal complaint against Torran Burrus, alleging he burglarized her home to obtain evidence used against her in the theft case. He was suspended without pay.

The Sun said it couldn't reach attorneys for either Burrus.
