About the Position

The Opportunity: Human Resources Coordinator

The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator. This is a full-time entry level Human Resources position with the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop within a dynamic HR team. This individual will collaborate with the Human Resources team and provide a broad spectrum of support to the department related to employment records, compliance, benefits, recruitment, data entry, reporting and other various department initiatives. This position is temporarily remote until offices reopen.

In this role, you will:

Maintain accurate records and files in accordance with laws, regulations, and The Associated’s policies.
Manage unemployment requests, employment verifications, as well as fraudulent unemployment claims and tracking, invoices and billing for drug testing and background checks.
Enter data in HRIS, assist with all HR department reporting, including tracking, and recording performance evaluations.
Assist with new hire onboarding process; includes managing new hire paperwork and overseeing background screenings and drug testing.
Work with Vice President of HR and Talent Acquisition Manager to support employee engagement initiatives, including the employee of the month program, employee anniversaries, birthdays, and monthly staff newsletter.
Support the Director of Benefits during Open Enrollment to include meeting attendance, assisting employees with enrollment, enrollment tracking, and general customer service.
Help manage logistics of HR Committee Meetings which includes completing meeting minutes, managing attendance and scheduling meetings.
Work collaboratively with the HR team and provide back up and assistance, particularly with reviewing resumes, telephone screening, coordinating meetings, and other HR administration support as needed.
What we're looking for:

A minimum of 1-2 years’ professional or intern experience working in a similar role.
Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Ability to work in a remote environment, temporarily.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment, required.
Exceptional attention to detail, critical.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, essential.
Superior time management and organizational skills, required.
Ability to maintain highly confidential information, a must.
Strong proficiency working in Outlook, Word, and Excel, required.
Experience and/or comfort working in HRIS, required; Ceridian Dayforce experience, a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $40,000-45,000 annually; salary commensurate with experience.
