About the Position

The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore is seeking an ambitious, organized, and enthusiastic summer intern to assist the Community Planning & Allocations Department (CP&A). The ideal intern is committed to strengthening Jewish community in Baltimore. As a part of the CP&A team, you will assist The Associated and its agency partners in using research and data to drive decision-making in the areas of caring and community relations and Jewish life. This internship is ideal for anyone interested in the non-profit sector and will offer a great introduction into the variety of roles and initiatives within The Associated.



This is a unique opportunity, and you might be exactly the person we need. You are:

Pursing a degree in social work (Social Administration/Macro Social Work), Nonprofit Management or Public Policy
Passionate about working in the non-profit sector
Experienced with research and data analysis


This summer internship is unpaid, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution. This is a remote position. Intern can expect to work 10-12 hours per week (flexible days and hours).



What You Will Do: (subject to change)

Review recent external studies of Jewish Baltimore (2020 Greater Baltimore Jewish Community Study and Building Resilient Jewish Communities: A Jewish Response to the Coronavirus Crisis) and identify key findings for specific demographics and issues
Review other community studies and national studies to compare Baltimore findings to national trends
Assist with new qualitative and quantitative research, including survey development, participant recruitment and screening, and recording and analyzing responses
Research national program models (both within and outside the Jewish community) for issues that are addressed by CP&A Lead Teams and Managing Councils
Research how other communities collect, use, and share community-wide data
Research foundation prospects to identify priority funding areas
Liaise with Associated agency and program professionals to collect information
Assist with additional projects/assignments within The Associated’s CP&A department
