About the Position

Jewish Community Services is seeking a Director of Mental Health Services to provide oversight to our Mental Health Clinic and Therapy Services. The director will provide oversight for planning, organizing, evaluating, and directing the delivery of quality client services within a behavioral health treatment program. The director will also be responsible for training and educating staff and management on the budget for Mental Health Services and supervises the Senior Manager of Therapy Services and the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The director is a part of the Executive Cabinet.

Key Responsibilities:
•Provides oversight for the direction and management of all aspects of our clinical programs and maintains quality standards
•Collaborates with management on all phases of program administration and program development
•Directs or participates in clinical meetings/case conferences with all clinical staff as appropriate
•Sets the standard for ensuring that client records are completed in a timely and accurate manner
•Provides appropriate supervision and support for training for the department
•Monitors adherence to agency, COMAR, and CARF accreditation procedures and practices and ensures proper usage of incident reporting
•Manages in partnership with the Director of Compliance, state and CARF inspections, staffing meetings, quality improvement issues, and concerns
•Participates in behavioral health provider and coalition meetings as appropriate
•Informs staff of research and development in areas of study when appropriate to ensure best practices
•Develops, coordinates, and maintains clinical program policies and procedures, and modifies as necessary overall program parameters
•Assists in addressing patient grievances and incidents
•Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment-free work environment by understanding and complying with the agency’s policies
•Assumes a caseload as needed

Qualifications:
•Master's or Doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines required: Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatry
•Qualifying License required: in one of the following areas: Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatry
•Significant management experience at the senior level in the delivery of mental health services
•Knowledge of principles and practices of all facets of an outpatient behavioral health clinic
•Demonstrated success in managing state funded programs
•Experienced in preparing, analyzing and managing large, complex budgets
•Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
•Knowledge and sensitivity to Jewish values and customs preferred

The Director is also responsible for setting the Total Performance Management goals and measuring the progress towards these goals. With other Directors, is responsible for setting and implementing agency goals, policies, and procedures. Works with lay leaders to plan and oversee Mental Health programs.
