Qualified candidates should be reflective learners and practitioners able to implement best practices in teaching using flexible and individualized instruction, technology integration, and center-based learning to help every student achieve success.

About the Position

Ohr Chadash Academy is seeking a part-time or full-time special educator to work as part of our student support team. Utilizing research-based methodologies, the candidate will work collaboratively with administrators and teachers to assess, monitor, provide direct instruction to and program for the academic needs of students in grades K-8.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in education/special education, master’s preferred
• Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience with students with learning disabilities
• Proficiency with technology integration
• Experience administering a variety of informal testing measures
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Effective behavior management skills
• Strong organization skills
Responsibilities:
• Working with students 1:1 or in small groups to remediate reading, writing, and math skills
• Observing students in the classroom and advising teachers on modifications and accommodations for the students
• Establishing and maintaining effective data collection methods and adjusting instruction based on data
• Communicating students’ progress and performance with colleagues and parents
