About the Position

Ohr Chadash Academy is seeking a full-time reading specialist to work as part of our student support team. Utilizing research-based methodologies, the candidate will work collaboratively with administrators and teachers to assess, monitor, provide direct instruction to and program for the reading needs of students in grades K-8.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, master’s preferred
• Formal training in special education and/or current research-based reading instruction
• Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience
• Proficiency with technology integration
• Experience administering a variety of informal testing measures
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Effective behavior management skills
• Strong organizational skills
Responsibilities:
• Working with students 1:1 or in small groups to remediate reading skills.
• Observing students in the classroom and advising teachers on modifications and accommodations for the students.
• Establishing and maintaining effective data collection methods and adjusting instruction based on data.
• Communicating students’ progress and performance with colleagues and parents.
