Meteorologists are tracking a weather system that could kick off the long Presidents Day weekend with accumulating across most of Maryland.

The snow in Maryland is expected to total between 1 and 3 inches, with snow starting late Friday evening. Most of the snow should end by noon on Saturday, according to forecasters.

The accumulating snow is expected to fall even in Southern Maryland, not just the central and western portions of the state. The forecast for snow Friday night follows measurable snow in some areas of Maryland on Tuesday.
