Baltimore, MD - June 23, 2023 - Kehillas Kol Torah has been a makom of Torah, Tefillah, and Avodah for the Baltimore Community for over twenty years. Newly marrieds, yungerleit, established professionals, and retirees united by their shared commitment to growth in ruchniyus have made Kol Torah their spiritual home. The Shul’s uplifting and inspiring atmosphere is a critical touchstone for its mispalelim, their families, and the community at large to connect to classical Torah values and Avodas Hashem. This diverse mix of constituents and an atmosphere infused with Avodah and Limud HaTorah has enabled Kol Torah to develop into a unique Shul that has become a communal center for spiritual growth.

Kol Torah, colloquially referred to as “Rabbi Berger’s Shul,” is shaped by its Rav,  Rav Yosef Berger. Rabbi Berger is recognized as a world-class Talmid Chacham whose halachic decisions and eitzah are sought out by both fellow Rabbanim and laypeople alike. Over a week, Rabbi Berger answers hundreds of shaylos and offers guidance to members of the extended Baltimore community and community leaders across the country. The Shul’s substantial out-of-town membership has increased over the course of the past twenty years and highlights the profound connections the Rav creates with the Shul’s members.

Like many Shuls, Kol Torah operates a wide range of programming for families. On Shabbos afternoons, there are both Pirchei and Bnos groups, as well as Avos U’Banim and Melaveh Malkas on Motzei Shabbas. During the week, girls participate in Kol Torah (KT) Links learning and social programs, and bar mitzvah-aged boys have the opportunity to create their own special kesher with the Rav by learning hilchos tefillin in preparation for them starting this special mitzvah.

A special feature of the Shul is its array of chaburos and shiurim that begin in the early morning and stretch late into the evening. Whether one is interested in a more in-depth approach, covering ground, Daf HaYomi, or practical halacha, the Shul has a forum for one to further their learning. Every evening, the Shul hosts a full beis medrash with all the participants learning with a contagious energy that helps enliven one’s learning after a long day.

The Shul has also become a hub for community organizations that support the greater Baltimore community. The Shul is the base for Northwest Citizen’s Patrol (NWCP) and Misaskim, providing much-needed community services. With its focus on helping the Baltimore Community, Kol Torah is always open to expanding how it can further facilitate and benefit the Klal.

Please join us in supporting Kol Torah on its annual campaign to recognize the strength it provides to the klal and show your appreciation for the Rav by generously contributing to our 48 hour campaign from Wednesday, June 28th through Friday, June 30th.
