Baltimore, MD - Mar. 11, 2026 - The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is advising residents that trash collection and services at some residential drop-off center locations may experience delays from Wednesday, March 11 through Saturday, March 14.
During this time, the waste-to-energy facility, operated by Win Waste Innovations, that typically receives Baltimore City’s trash will be closed for scheduled maintenance and will not accept materials. As a result, all Bureau of Solid Waste disposal operations will be temporarily redirected to the Quarantine Road Landfill.
Because of the increased volume at the Quarantine Road Landfill, residents may notice:
Slower trash collection on some routes as DPW crews will face longer wait times to dispose of their loads ...

As we head into the Pesach season, we at Seven Mile Market are mindful of the complexity and severity of ensuring that items customers assume are Kosher L’Pesach are actually so. Baltimore, MD - Mar. 11, 2026 - Maryland State Police are alerting residents about a phone scam that impersonates law enforcement officers in an effort to steal personal information.
Officials received reports from residents about scammers who falsely identified themselves as police officers or troopers in order to obtain financial information or money.
These impersonators are telling victims they need to obtain the information due to a police investigation or are asking them to donate to support law enforcement and their families.
There have also been instances in which impersonators use the real name of an officer to gain trust, officials said.
Authorities emphasized that Maryland State Police do not call or text individuals or request money from anyone under any circumst...
Baltimore, MD - Mar. 11, 2026 - Rabbi Hallel Newman brought his replica of the mishkan to Yeshivas Toras Simcha today. The structure took a year to construct, and Rabbi Newman has visited several schools to display the model and discuss the various functionalities.
Great effort was put into making the model resemble the actual mishkan, which we read about in the weekly parshios these weeks. Rabbi Newman showed the model to children in all the grades and allowed more time for the older grades to ask questions. The demonstration was also particularly appropriate for the eighth-grade students who are learning meseches Tamid.
Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 11, 2026 - Travel out of Israel remains significantly disrupted, and observers are anticipating an even greater surge of passengers seeking to depart as yeshiva and seminary semesters draw to a close.
The limited number of flights operating out of Ben-Gurion Airport – constrained both by reduced airline schedules and government-imposed passenger caps – have not been sufficient to meet current demand. With large numbers of students expected to seek departure in the coming days, those limitations are projected to become even more acute.
Egypt Remains Key – But With Challenges
As previously reported by Chaim V’Chessed, travel through Egypt has until now been the most viable route for those seeking to exit Israel. However...
