In a massive victory for President Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., the House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that will set the stage for a massive conservative policy overhaul.
The legislation passed mostly along party lines on Thursday morning after a long night of negotiations between House GOP leaders and fiscal hawks who were critical of its spending cut levels.
Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., held a press conference on Thursday morning in a bid to allay conservatives' concerns.
"I'm happy to tell you that this morning, I believe we have the votes to finally adopt the budget resolution so we can move forward on President Trump's very important agenda for the American people," Johnson said. "...
Jerusalem, Israel - April 10, 2025 - This is the perfect opportunity to take a break from all the arduous Passover cleaning, grab yourself a nice glass of smooth Kedem Apple Juice, with ice, sit back and enjoy this brilliant news update. It hardly gets better than this. A flurry of pre-Passover international diplomatic activity this week. After an exceptionally friendly visit in Hungary, Prime Minister Netanyahu traveled to DC to meet with also very friendly President Trump and other US Administration officials. In Hungary, not only was Netanyahu not arrested, despite an official request from the International Criminal Court, but Hungary just up and quit the whole stupid thing. Boom! There were rumors that Hungary would announce that they would be moving their embassy to Jerusalem, but it ...
Jerusalem, Israel - April 10, 2025 - Israel’s population is expected to double in the coming decades, yet the country is already facing a severe housing shortage. To meet the current demand alone, Israel would need to deliver the keys to 200,000 apartments. This raises a pressing question: where can tiny Israel, which is no larger than the state of New Jersey, find enough land for development?
One important solution is to increase residential and business centers, primarily in the south. Several organizations are actively working on this, and progress is being made. But for those who want to live in Israel’s major population centers, the most viable solution is Pinuy Binuy – a large-scale urban renewal program that replaces outdated, low-density buildings with modern hig...

Baltimore, MD - April 9, 2025 - For much of my youth, my parents, siblings, and I had the distinct privilege of spending Pesach with my grandparents, Yehuda & Chana Friedman, Z”L. It was easily the highlight of our year. We’d pack up the station wagon and head to their home in Washington, D.C., where the rolling hills of Shepherd Park were painted with blooming tulips and the soft pink hues of cherry blossoms. It was a break from school, a chance to unwind – but more than anything, it was a time to be together as a family.
Walking into their home on Erev Pesach, you were immediately embraced by the aroma of Yom Tov – the kitchen buzzing with activity, the warmth of tradition filling every corner. My grandparents were always a team, especially in the kitche...

US President Donald Trump signed the confirmation of Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel on Wednesday, following a vote in favor of his appointment in the Senate.
The US Senate was split largely along party lines with 53 for and 46 against the nomination, with Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman being the only one of his party to vote for Huckabee.
Huckabee's appointment raised strong concerns among Democrats, notably due to his explicit support for Israel's right to annex the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Huckabee will take office in a particularly tense context, as efforts to impose a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas are at a standstill. The release of hostages held since the October 7 attack, including American-Israeli citizen Edan Alexander, remains a priority....

Charges in the indictments include illegal possession of firearms and distribution of fentanyl. The near-year investigation was led by the Organized Crime Unit of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, the Group Violence Unit of the Baltimore Police Department, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement as part of the city’s Group Violence Reduction Strategy.

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that, if military action is required to thwart Iran’s nuclear program, Israel will be involved and even lead the effort.
“With Iran, if it requires military, we’re going to have military. Israel will be the leader of that. But nobody leads us, we do what we want to do,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Office.
Asked what his deadline would be for Iran to reach a deal, the President replied, “I can’t really be specific, but when you start talks, you know if they’re going along well or not, and I would say the conclusion would be when I think they’re not going along well."
Trump has repeatedly said that he would prefer to reach a deal with Iran rather than have to attack its nuclear facilities, but...
The House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday to limit federal district judges' ability to affect Trump administration policies on a national scale.
The No Rogue Rulings Act led by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., passed the House and limits district courts' power to issue U.S.-wide injunctions, instead forcing them to focus their scope on the parties directly affected in most cases.
The Trump administration has faced more than 15 nationwide injunctions since the Republican commander-in-chief took office, targeting a wide range of President Donald Trump's policies, from birthright citizenship reform to anti-diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts.Issa himself was confident the bill would pass, telling Fox News Digital on Tuesday morning, "We've got ...

"What is this עבודה — service to you?"
The exact nature of this loaded question of the Wicked Son has been explained in many ways. With this utterance this son is given the designation, כופר בעיקר — a denier of that which is a fundamental belief.
Some claim he is rejecting the veracity of Torah. Others assert he is relinquishing personal responsibility. Both notions are certainly heretical.
The Jerusalem Talmud however simplifies it as merely an expression of annoyance.
מה הטורח הזה שאתם מטריחין עלינו כל שנה ושנה? — "What is this hardship that you bother us with every year?"
The Ritva defines it more specifically as complaining 'why are we delaying the meal thus diluting the joy of the holiday!'

There is a long-standing tradition that the Shabbos before Pesach is referred to as Shabbos Hagodol – The Great Shabbos. Virtually every commentary relates this title all the way back to Yitzias Mitzrayim. The year Bnei Ysroel left Mitzrayim, Pesach fell on a Thursday. Hence, the preceding Shabbos was the 10th of Nissan. This was a particularly special day. It was on the 10th of Nissan that Bnei Yisroel were commanded to take the lamb which would eventually be used as the first Korban Pesach. (Shemos, 12:3) Accordingly, we mark the Shabbos which precedes Pesach as Shabbos Hagodol. (Tur Orech Chayim, Siman 430).
The Halachic authorities go into great detail as to the reason for the...
